Mobarakeh Steel Enters Mining Extraction with Sangan Steel
Mobarakeh Steel Company, relying on the mining capacities and specialized capabilities of Sangan Steel, has begun a new chapter in developing its value chain by entering the iron ore extraction sector.
Ali Rasoulian, CEO of Sangan Steel, during a visit to the Sangan iron ore mine, referring to the company’s new approach in the mining sector, stated: We have made a serious entry into the mining extraction sector, and with the purchase of machinery and its commencement of operation, we will witness the acceleration of the iron ore transfer process to the Sangan Steel complex. According to him, Sangan Steel, with an annual production capacity of 10 million tons of concentrate and pellets, plays a vital role in supplying Mobarakeh Steel’s raw materials, and the location of this complex in the Sangan mining region has created significant capacity for developing mining activities and completing the value chain.
Rasoulian added: This development can be assessed as beyond an operational expansion at Sangan Steel; because Mobarakeh Steel in recent years has pursued entering the mining and extraction sector as one of the requirements for sustainable feed supply.
The CEO of Sangan Steel continued: In addition to partnership and owned mines, Mobarakeh Steel has also become active in the iron ore extraction sector and has placed the development of mining activities on its agenda to increase feed supply, and due to the potential and capacities existing at Sangan Steel, the Mobarakeh Group assigned this great task to Sangan Steel.
Rasoulian, emphasizing Sangan’s special position in the future of the country’s steel industry, said: The mining sector is the starting point of the steel value chain, and any disruption in extraction and raw material supply can affect other links in the chain.
Accordingly, Sangan Steel’s entry into extraction operations can be considered a new link in the path of integrating Mobarakeh Steel’s supply chain; a chain that begins with the mine, continues with iron ore extraction and processing, and ultimately leads to the production of steel products.
