Emerald clears final hurdle at Dingo Range
Emerald Resources’ Dingo Range gold project in Western Australia is now fully permitted for development and operations following the receipt of its final works approval.
The approval from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation represents the last major regulatory milestone for the project, allowing Emerald to accelerate development activities across the site.
Emerald has already installed and commissioned a 264-person accommodation camp to support development and operations, while site works for key project infrastructure are underway.
The company has also placed orders for long-lead equipment, including the semi-autogenous grinding mill and crushing circuit, and completed the design of the project’s airstrip. A preferred contractor has been appointed to build the airstrip.
The milestone follows Emerald issuing a Letter of Award to MACA Mining as its preferred mining contractor for Dingo Range.
The proposed 74-month contract has an estimated value of approximately $562.5 million and covers drill and blast, load and haul, run-of-mine crusher feed, mine development and ancillary mining services; MACA is scheduled to mobilise its mining fleet to the site in December 2026.
Emerald spent $6.4 million on Dingo Range development and long-lead items during the June quarter, alongside $4.9 million on exploration and feasibility activities.
The company is now advancing a maiden ore reserve estimate, which will underpin the project’s definitive feasibility study.
Emerald said the study was nearing completion, with the ore reserve, updated development schedule and overall project timeline expected to be announced in the near term.
The work is being supported by Dingo Range’s January 2026 mineral resource estimate of 40.9 million tonnes (Mt) at 1.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold for 1.41 million ounces, including a higher-grade component of 24.2Mt at 1.4g/t gold for 1.12 million ounces.
The resource stretches across 11.4km and incorporates the Boundary-to-Bungarra trend, Great Northern and Freeman’s Find deposits.
Emerald continued infill and extensional drilling during the quarter, completing 433 holes for 23,273m across Dingo Range, with drilling at the Boundary deposit returning results including 11m at 18.35g/t gold from 181m, incorporating 2m at 98.60g/t, and 7m at 24.83g/t from 204m, including 1m at 166g/t.
The results further confirmed the continuity of mineralisation within the existing open-pit resource while strengthening the project’s potential for future underground development.
Infill and extensional drilling will continue at Boundary and Great Northern, with new results set to support further mineral resource updates and the forthcoming maiden ore reserve.
