Preferred drilling contractor selected for Zeb nickel project
URU Metals’ subsidiary Lesego Platinum Uitloop has completed the tender process for the Zone 2 resource drilling programme at its Zeb nickel project, in Limpopo, South Africa, and selected exploration drilling services company Zaaiman Exploration Drilling as its preferred drilling contractor.
Zaaiman has previously carried out diamond drilling at the Zeb nickel project and is familiar with the ground conditions, access arrangements and site operating requirements.
URU Metals highlights that this drilling programme is designed to support a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the Zone 2 nickel/copper/platinum mineralisation.
“Zaaiman knows Zeb from its previous drilling on the project. Their understanding of the ground conditions, site access and how we work gives us confidence as we prepare to start this programme.
“Our focus is on recovering high-quality core to support an MRE,” says URU Metals CEO John Zorbas.
On safety, Zaaiman has recorded no fatal incidents since the company’s inception in 1992, both across its operations generally and in its previous work on the Zeb nickel project.
