American Tungsten subsidiary engages US Department of Energy for potential $18m funding
American Tungsten and Antimony's US subsidiary Trigg Minerals has been selected by the US Department of Energy (US DoE) for a potential financial award of up to $18-million.
The US DoE has invited Trigg to start negotiating the scope and terms for the Advancing Smelting Capacity for Expansion and National Dominance in Antimony, or ASCEND, project.
This project is one of nine that have been selected nationally under a $162-million US DoE programme announced on August 18.
American Tungsten says the start of negotiations for an antimony project and a potential funding award are the first steps in advancing the company’s mine-to-metal American supply chain.
The company is advancing a portfolio of antimony and tungsten projects in Utah and Nevada, with both these minerals having been designated as critical to the US security, defence and advanced manufacturing sectors.
