Pezeshkian: “Energy Priority Goes to Production, Not Government Offices”
At the National Industry and Mining Day conference, the President, emphasizing the priority of maintaining production continuity, instructed the Minister of Energy that to prevent disruption to the country's industrial process, stable power supply to industries must be maintained without interruption—even at the cost of imposing restrictions on government offices.
The National Industry and Mining Day conference was held today (July 21, 2026) with the attendance of the President, the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, senior state officials, economic activists, industry and mining sector managers, and a group of producers at the IRIB International Conference Center. At this event, Dr. Mohammad Masoud Samiei-Nejad, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and Chairman of the Board of IMIDRO, was also present.
At the conference, the President, referring to the importance of maintaining production in the country, stated: “Let government electricity go off, but electricity for industrial production must not be cut.”
Emphasizing the priority of supporting the production sector, he communicated this matter to the Minister of Energy and called for planning and adopting necessary measures to ensure stable power supply for industries and prevent disruption to the production process.
Later at the conference, the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, referring to the most important challenges facing the industry and mining sector, emphasized the necessity of stable energy supply for production units and addressed the concerns and demands of producers in the areas of energy, production continuity, and support for industrial activities.
The National Industry and Mining Day conference was held with the presence of senior state officials, managers of industrial and mining sectors, specialized associations, and economic activists, and the most important topics related to production development, investment, energy supply, and enhancing the competitiveness of the industry and mining sector were discussed.
