Northern Star procures Toro loaders, trucks from Sandvik
Australia's largest gold miner Northern Star Resources has selected multinational engineering company Sandvik to supply 25 units of underground equipment to operations in Western Australia.
The order includes 14 Toro LH621i loaders, ten Toro TH663i trucks and a Sandvik DD422i development jumbo, with deliveries expected from June next year through early 2028.
The Toro-brand machinery is engineered for the most demanding underground mining environments, offering connectivity, real-time analytics, automation readiness and superior maintainability.
Northern Star operates three production centres with openpit and underground gold mines in Kalgoorlie and Yandal, in Western Australia, as well as the Pogo gold mine in Alaska.
While Sandvik’s local teams work closely with companies throughout equipment delivery, commissioning and ongoing lifecycle management, Northern Star’s in-house mining services division will operate and maintain the equipment.
