The Tehran Stock Exchange today (Saturday) continued last week’s downtrend, opening its trading with a heavy decline in the main index, falling 129,137 points to stand at 8,000,044 units.

During today’s trading, more than one million trades were executed on the Tehran Stock Exchange, with trading value reaching 45.2 trillion tomans. The symbols Fmeli, Fars, Foolad, Taban, Vebmelat, Tapico, and Tasiko were among the symbols influencing the market’s trading trend.

In the Farabourse market, a downtrend also prevailed, with the main index of this market falling 413 units to 67,030 units. The number of Farabourse trades was recorded at 702,202.

The symbols Fazar, Marun, Aria, Saman, Sharanel, and Fajahan were also among the symbols influencing the Farabourse index in today’s trading.

Continued Selling Pressure in the Stock Market

The heavy decline in the stock exchange main index on the first trading day of the week, continuing the downtrend of recent days, shows that the stock market is still facing selling pressure. The simultaneous decline of both the Tehran Stock Exchange and Farabourse indices also indicates that the negative trend has spread to both markets.

However, for a more precise assessment of the market situation and to gauge the intensity of selling pressure, examining the trading trend of symbols, changes in the equal-weighted index, the net inflow and outflow of real money, and the ratio of positive to negative symbols is essential; data that can provide a clearer picture of the extent of the market decline and traders’ behavior.
