According to Mining News Pro - Hormozgan Steel Company succeeded to establish a new record in January by producing 140,624 tons of crude steel.
Asghar Madani, deputy of operation in HOSCO said that although the company’s name is in US sanction list, coronavirus pandemic, and lack of access to raw materials and energy sources such as gas and electricity we were able to establish new records.
“We are trying to push up the slab production to 1.5 million tons which is the nominal capacity of the company,” he explained while mentioning the slab production during the last two years that is 1,440,000 tons and 1,460,000 tons respectively.
“The nominal production capacity of DRI in the direct reduction unit of this company is one million and 655 thousand tons per year however, we need external resources to supply our DRI demand. In 1400 (solar year) outlook we have special strategic plans.
