Mining News Pro - India`s largest iron ore miner – NMDC has recorded exports at 39 rakes in Oct’18, up four folds on monthly basis as against 10 rakes a month before.
According to Mining News Pro -India`s largest iron ore miner – NMDC has recorded exports at 39 rakes in Oct’18, up four folds on monthly basis as against 10 rakes a month before. The miner resumed exports in Sep’18 after a gap of five months (since Mar’18). Amid delay in renewing of LTA for export and finalising export duty, export volumes were lower earlier this year.
NMDC supplied a total of 355 rakes of iron ore in Oct`18, up 47% on monthly basis, against 241 rakes in Sep’18. NMDC had announced iron ore price hike twice during Sept’18. Later in Oct’18, the miner rolled over iron ore prices.
Procurement by C.G. based units up 32% in Oct’18
Procurement of NMDC iron ore by Chhattisgarh based units increased 32% to 58 rakes in Oct`18 as against being 44 rakes in Sep`18. Chhattisgarh based sponge units increased iron ore sourcing and had a preference over pellets.
Procurement by outside C.G. based units increased 38%
The procurement by units outside C.G has witnessed a rise of 38% on monthly basis to 258 rakes in Oct`18 as against 187 rakes in Sep`18.
JSW Steel (Dolvi) sourcing from NMDC increased to 30 rakes in Oct`18, up 58% as against 19 rakes a month before. RINL procurement from NMDC Bailadila mines grew 39% on monthly basis to 169 rakes as compared to Sep`18 procurement at 122 rakes.
KIOCL has also increased its sourcing sharply by 47% in Oct`18 to 50 rakes compared to 34 iron ore rakes from NMDC in Sep`18.
