US-based M2i partners with Polish companies to explore tungsten, molybdenum potential
Polish mineral resource companies Permia 1, Permia 2 and Permia 3 have signed a strategic collaboration and technical cooperation agreement valid for two years with US-based critical minerals supply chain builder M2i Global.
The agreement establishes a framework for the joint evaluation of projects associated with tungsten, molybdenum and copper mineralisation in the Myszków area.
The cooperation is expected to cover geological, technical and economic matters, as well as an assessment of opportunities to integrate the projects into secure critical minerals supply chains for allied countries.
The parties also intend to explore opportunities related to the development of secure mineral supply chains for North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies.
“Poland is an important, allied country for the US, especially as we seek to secure and resilient critical minerals supply chains. The projects in the Myszków area provide M2i with an opportunity to evaluate a potentially significant European source of tungsten, molybdenum and copper at a time when supply diversification is becoming increasingly important to Western industry, defence and economic security,” says M2i CEO Alberto Rosende.
Rosende emphasises that the purpose of the collaboration agreement is to assess the technical and commercial potential of the projects and identify potential pathways for cooperation with investors, prospective offtake partners, and relevant US government programmes.
Under the agreement, M2i may support the Permia companies in engaging with investors, financing institutions, industry partners, and potential customers in the US. The parties may also explore opportunities related to critical minerals programmes administered by relevant US government agencies and institutions..
“Cooperation with M2i Global provides an opportunity to view the Myszków project within the broader international context of supply security and access to raw materials. We believe that Poland has geological potential that may, in the future, contribute to building more diversified and resilient supply chains in Europe and allied countries,” notes Permia 1 president Kasjan Wyligała.
He adds that M2i’s experience, business relationships and knowledge of the US critical minerals market may complement the geological work being carried out in Poland by Permia 1, Permia 2 and Permia 3.
The Myszków area has been the subject of geological research for about 50 years. Mineralisation including, among other elements, tungsten, molybdenum and copper has been confirmed in the area. The Permia companies are currently undertaking activities aimed at further evaluating the geological and economic potential of the projects.
