Mining News Pro - Total Safety, a leading provider of integrated safety services and solutions in mining and other industries based in Houston, Texas, has announced that it has acquired Pivotal Safety, a full-service safety company serving Western Canada and based in Bonnyville, Alberta.
According to Mining News Pro - “This acquisition enhances Total Safety’s geographic footprint in Western Canada, and will allow the combined company to bring to bear a broader offering of safety solutions and technologies to serve its customers across Canada.”

Glenn Roberts, Former President of Pivotal Safety, will lead the combined company’s Canadian business unit and will assume the role of Vice President, Total Safety Canada. “Total Safety is an ideal strategic fit for us—our two companies share a common vision and mission, as well as a commitment to superior execution for our customers. We look forward to joining Total Safety and leveraging their scale to continue our growth in the Canadian market,” said Roberts.
One of Total Safety’s solutions is the provision of In-Mine Service Centers (IMSCs), where full-time, trained technicians can be on site at a choice of mining location, day or night, “providing integrated safety services to support specific requirements, which improves efficiency and minimises costs. By implementing an IMSC at your location, you can expect to lower costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars and post safety records that are significantly better than the industry average.”
Total Safety’s In-Mine Service Centers offer:
Advanced planning of safety practices and determination of needs
Supply of rental equipment needed to accommodate owners and contractors
Inspection and maintenance of existing safety equipment for performance and compliance
Distribution of safety instruments and any necessary equipment training
Rental of specialty/high cap-ex items and services
Auditing of contractor and in-house staff safety practices
Fire, gas and respiratory inspection and compliance
