Tehran Stock Exchange Continues Uptrend with Modest Momentum
The Tehran Stock Exchange continued its upward path on the second trading day of the week, with the main index rising 6,372 points, but the pace of index growth slowed compared to the previous day, pushing the market into a more cautious phase.
The Tehran Stock Exchange main index in today’s trading (Sunday) rose 6,372 points to 8,000,089 units. The equal-weighted index also gained 161 points, standing at 2,259,000 units.
An examination of the trading trend shows that the stock market, after yesterday’s significant surge, continued its upward path today at a slower pace. The noticeable slowdown in the main index’s growth momentum compared to the previous day could be a sign of moderating buying enthusiasm and the market entering a more cautious phase.
However, the number of trades exceeding one million—with 1,136,000 trades recorded—alongside a trading value equivalent to 45,200 billion tomans, indicates continued activity and active trader presence in the market.
In today’s trading, the symbols Felmeli, Fars, Foolad, Taban, Vaghdir, Parsan, and Shabandar were among the symbols influencing the Tehran Stock Exchange main index.
On the other side of the capital market, the Farabourse main index rose 144 points to 68,106 units.
The number of Farabourse trades reached 962,975, and the value of these trades was recorded at 38,300 billion tomans. The symbols Aria, Marun, Fazar, Sharanel, Vamapna, Fakour, and Koghar had the greatest impact on the Farabourse main index.
The total value of trades recorded on the Tehran Stock Exchange and Farabourse today reached approximately 83,500 billion tomans; a figure that, alongside nearly 2.1 million trades across the two markets, indicates a high level of trading activity.
Overall, although the stock market continues to move upward, the more limited growth of indices compared to the previous day shows that to assess the sustainability of this trend, the market’s behavior in the coming days, the level of liquidity inflow and outflow, and the breadth of positive and negative symbols must also be monitored. This is especially important given that the main index growth alone cannot indicate an improvement in the condition of all groups and listed symbols.
