Aus science agency to undertake manganese characterisation study of Woodie Woodie North core

Accelerate Resources a $50 000 Kick-Start research voucher towards funding a detailed characterisation study of manganese mineralisation at the Woodie Woodie North manganese project, in Western Australia.

The study, titled Multiscale Characterisation of Manganese Mineralisation, will be led by CSIRO’s Dr Yoram Teitler and conducted at the agency’s Kensington laboratory in Perth. It will analyse the mineral composition and physical properties of Woodie Woodie North manganese mineralisation to inform the design of separate metallurgical and ore-sorting testwork.

“We are delighted and grateful to have CSIRO’s support at Woodie Woodie North. The CSIRO programme will help us to better understand the different types of manganese mineralisation at Area 42 and how they may respond to processing.

“CSIRO brings world class mineral characterisation capability that would be very difficult for a company of our size to access on this scale. Understanding how the different manganese ore types at Area 42 behave is fundamental to designing the right processing route, and this work will run alongside our metallurgical and ore sorting testwork to give us a much sharper picture of the upgrade potential,” comments Accelerate CEO Luke Meter.

CSIRO will examine about 150 m of large diameter diamond drill core from the Dale’s Patch and Nathan’s Flat prospects within Area 42.

The study will assess differences in mineral composition, chemistry and hardness that may affect processing performance.
