Lundin Gold’s Fruta del Norte mine delivers its strongest-ever quarterly production

Lundin Gold's Fruta del Norte mine, in Ecuador, produced 153 736 oz of gold in the quarter ended September 30, marking the strongest production quarter in the mine's history. Production was also nearly 26% higher than the 222 086 oz of gold produced in the third quarter of 2025.

In the third quarter, the mill processed 535 711 t of ore, resulting in an average throughput rate of 5 823 t/d at an average grade of 10.1 g/t, with recoveries of 88.3%.

“Record quarterly throughput and higher grades drove record production during the quarter, resulting in 392 472 oz of gold produced through the first nine months of 2026. Following this strong performance, we are well positioned to deliver full-year production within our 2026 guidance range of 475 000 oz to 525 000 oz,” comments Lundin Gold president and CEO Jamie Beck.

Meanwhile, the company sold 148 326 oz of gold at an average realised price of $4 299/oz in the third quarter, compared with the 124 911 oz sold at an average price of $3 634/oz in the third quarter of 2025.

Sales of 374 019 oz of gold for the nine months to September 30 were lower than the 379 289 oz sold in the first nine months of 2025.

“On a year-to-date basis, sales trailed production due to timing and we expect the majority of these ounces to be sold in the fourth quarter,” says Beck.
