Forrestania more than doubles British Hill gold resource

Forrestania Resources has more than doubled the mineral resource estimate (MRE) at its British Hill gold project in Western Australia, delivering a 131 per cent increase that further strengthens the deposit’s role within the company’s regional growth strategy.

The updated JORC-compliant MRE now stands at 2.62 million tonnes at 1.50 grams per tonne (g/t) gold for 126,290 ounces at a 0.5g/t cut-off grade, up from the previous estimate.

The higher-confidence indicated resource also grew by 180 per cent to 1.88Mt at 1.43g/t gold for 86,080oz, supported by a recent 19-hole drilling campaign totalling 4,764 m, including 693m of diamond tails.

Forrestania has already recommenced drilling at the project, with three reverse-circulation (RC) rigs operating on site and an approved 100-hole program targeting resource extensions along strike and down-dip.

The company also said it plans to undertake conceptual mining studies and metallurgical test work as it advances the project.

Chairman David Geraghty said the latest resource upgrade reflected the momentum building at British Hill.

“British Hill continues to expand, with a more than doubling of the previous Mineral Resource Estimate and a material increase in the proportion of higher-confidence Indicated Resources,” he said.

“The combination of resource growth, ongoing drilling success and excellent regional infrastructure positions British Hill as a key asset within our broader Forrestania gold strategy.

“With three RC drilling rigs on site and drilling continuing, we believe there remains significant opportunity to further expand the resource base and enhance project economics as we progress technical studies and evaluate future development pathways.”

The updated estimate incorporates drilling completed during 2026 and was independently prepared by Perth-based consultancy Widenbar and Associates. Based on a 0.5g/t cut-off grade, the resource comprises 86,080oz in the indicated category and 40,210oz in the inferred category.

The latest resource growth follows another successful drilling campaign announced by Forrestania in July, which returned high-grade gold intercepts including 4m at 7.46g/t gold from 124m, including 1m at 22.76g/t, and 7m at 5.69g/t gold from surface.

The program confirmed mineralisation extends both up-dip to the east and at depth, with the company saying the results would underpin an expanded MRE.

Located approximately 75km south-southeast of Southern Cross, British Hill sits within the Southern Cross–Forrestania Greenstone Belt on a granted mining lease.

Forrestania said it believes the combination of continued drilling, resource growth and existing regional infrastructure supports the project’s potential to become a future source of ore within its broader Western Australian gold portfolio.
