Trekor produces solid amounts of copper, cathode in Q2
Trekor Metals produced 30.3-million pounds of copper and 559 000 lb of molybdenum in the second quarter.
The company owns the Gibraltar mine, in British Columbia, and the Florence Copper production facility, in Arizona.
Mining activities were focused on the lower benches of the Connector Pit, which delivered ore grades in line with the life-of-mine average. Trekor explains mill throughput and recoveries were also consistent with the prior two quarters.
Trekor is undertaking production ramp-up activities at Florence Copper, with a total 5.2-million pounds of copper cathode having been produced in the second quarter. At the end of June, Florence Copper had 110 production wells operating and feeding the plant. The company is on track to bring an additional 26 wells into production in August, with more monthly additions of new wells planned for the remainder of the year.
Trekor expects to produce between 110-million and 115-million pounds of copper and between 30-million and 35-million pounds of copper cathode in the full-year.
