Omnia’s share price rises on potential buyout offer news

The share price of JSE-listed Omnia rose by more than 12% in early trade on Friday, September 11, after it informed stakeholders that it is in discussions with an unnamed party regarding a potential offer for all of its issued ordinary shares.

It stated that, while talks were advanced, no agreement had been reached and that there was no certainty that these discussions would result in a transaction being concluded.

By 09:20, its share price had risen by 12.10% to R115.12, compared with Thursday’s close of R102.69.

Omnia is a global, diversified group with complementary chemical and specialised service businesses providing a range of products, solutions and services to the agriculture, mining and chemicals sectors.

It has a physical presence in more than 20 countries and distributes products and services in more than 40 countries around the world.
