Iran Government’s Determination to Rebuild Damaged Industries in Khuzestan and Sustain Steel Production
A meeting to assess the damage to industrial infrastructure in Khuzestan Province and Khuzestan Steel Company was held in Ahvaz, attended by the Executive Deputy of the President, the Minister of Energy, and senior provincial officials, for the purpose of planning the rapid reconstruction of units.
A special meeting to review infrastructural and industrial damage in Khuzestan Province was held on July 20, 2026, in Ahvaz. The session, which was attended by Mohammad Jafar Qaempanah (Executive Deputy of the President), Abbas Aliabadi (Minister of Energy), Mohammad Reza Mavalizadeh (Governor of Khuzestan), as well as Amin Ebrahimi (CEO of Khuzestan Steel Company), involved a detailed assessment of the situation of industrial units and damaged infrastructure following recent attacks.
The Executive Deputy of the President, emphasizing the strategic position of Khuzestan as a sacred land, stressed the government’s serious determination to accurately assess damages and support the continuation of production in this province. Subsequently, Abbas Aliabadi, the Minister of Energy, while pointing out challenges in the energy infrastructure sector, deemed jihadi efforts for the reconstruction of power plants necessary and expressed appreciation for the Iranian nation’s efforts in managing energy consumption.
Mohammad Reza Mavalizadeh, Governor of Khuzestan, also, emphasizing the importance of the province’s industries for national security, announced the mobilization of all provincial capacities to swiftly address damages and facilitate the reconstruction of industrial units in order to preserve the production chain and the province’s economy.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Amin Ebrahimi, CEO of Khuzestan Steel, while presenting an analytical report on the company’s current status, emphasized the effective role of the 17,000 specialized personnel of the organization in the reconstruction process. This meeting is considered a practical step toward the rapid return of infrastructure to the production cycle and the government’s support for key industries.
