Prospect Awards highlights an evolving mining industry

As the country’s mining industry continues to evolve, the 2026 Australian Mining Prospect Awards will spotlight the people, projects and ideas shaping its future.

From engineers and safety advocates to contractors, operators and emerging leaders, thousands of people work behind the scenes each day to deliver key projects that drive one of the nation’s most important industries forward.

The 2026 Australian Mining Prospect Awards was ultimately created to recognise those contributions.

For more than a decade, the Prospect Awards have celebrated the people, initiatives and companies shaping Australia’s mining and minerals processing sector, earning a reputation as one of the industry’s most prestigious nights.

Continuing that tradition, on September 16, mining’s biggest names will gather at Fraser’s Kings Park in Perth for the 2026 Prospect Awards gala dinner.

At a time when Australia’s mining industry is expanding critical minerals production, adopting new technologies, and continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible, the Prospect Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the achievements that are critical to the sector’s success.

This year’s program reflects the scope of modern mining, with categories recognising achievements in areas ranging from digital transformation and autonomous operations through to community engagement, sustainability, safety and workforce excellence.

The awards also shine a spotlight on individuals, from rising stars beginning their careers to leaders whose contributions have left a lasting impact on Australian mining.

As principal partner, SEW-EURODRIVE sees the Prospect Awards as more than a celebration of achievement. The evening is also an opportunity for the industry to come together and reflect on its progress.

“It is important for SEW-EURODRIVE to support initiatives like the Prospect Awards as it reinforces our strong commitment to the mining industry’s transformation and continuous improvement,” the company told Australian Mining.

The awards, according to the industrial automation and drive technology manufacturer, are an opportunity to stand alongside organisations committed to innovation, collaboration and continued improvement across the sector, as it brings together companies from across the mining value chain, where ideas, experiences and achievements can be shared and celebrated.

“As an industry leader in the drive and automation field, we want to align ourselves with other companies and brands who commit to best practice and forward thinking across the mining sector,” SEW-EURODRIVE said.

“What better place than the prestigious Prospect Awards.”

The awards are a reminder that mining’s biggest achievements rarely happen in isolation.

“Collaboration has always been important, but especially now it accelerates innovation,” SEW-EURODRIVE said.

“Strong partnerships across sub-sectors of mining really are what drive scalable, practical solutions. Everyone works together to get the job done.”

With nominations now closed, finalists will be announced on July 27, and winners will be unveiled at the highly anticipated gala dinner.

For many, the evening is more than just coveted shiny silverware. It’s an opportunity to share a drink with industry peers, recognise colleagues, celebrate major achievements and hear first-hand from the people and organisations helping shape the future.

Whether you’re supporting a finalist, rewarding your team, hosting clients or simply want to be part of the industry’s most talked about nights, now is the time to secure your place.
