Canadian graphite explorer Graphano granted two permits for work on new discovery
Graphano Energy has received two permits for exploration work on the Black Jack graphite discovery, in Québec.
The two permits granted by Québec’s Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts authorise mechanical stripping and diamond drilling on site.
The stripping will take place over a one hectare area between September 15 this year and October 31, 2027, while diamond drilling will take place between October 15 this year until November 30, 2027.
Graphano identified the Black Jack prospect during a wider prospecting programme on the nearby Black Pearl discovery, with grab samples from exposed graphite-bearing horizon at Black Jack having returned graphitic carbon values ranging from 12% to 26.5%, with an average grade of 19.8%.
“The stripping, detailed mapping and systemic channel sampling will help us better evaluate the continuity, width and extent of the graphite-bearing horizon identified during our spring programme,” says Graphano CEO Dr Luisa Moreno.
