Anglo American awards Moranbah infrastructure work
Golding Contractors has secured a major infrastructure contract with Anglo American, adding up to $45 million of work to parent company NRW Holdings’ order book.
The contract will see Golding construct a new 10.8km rail diversion and associated utilities infrastructure near Moranbah in Central Queensland. Valued at between $41 million and $45 million, the project is scheduled for completion by March 2027 and will engage approximately 230 people.
The award further strengthens Golding’s position as a key contractor to Queensland’s resources sector, with the company continuing to deliver large-scale infrastructure works across the state.
“Golding has consistently demonstrated their ability to deliver mining infrastructure projects safely and reliably to the Queensland resources industry, as demonstrated by this new contract with Anglo American,” NRW chief executive officer Jules Pemberton said.
The Anglo American award was announced alongside a new Equipment Hire and Services Agreement (EHSA) between Golding and OneSteel Manufacturing at the South Middleback Ranges Mine on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.
The EHSA, valued at approximately $150 million over three years from July 2026, replaces existing arrangements Golding has operated under since voluntary administrators were appointed to OneSteel.
Around 60 employees will remain with Golding under the agreement, while additional personnel required for ongoing mining operations will transition to OneSteel. The contract also includes the supply of additional equipment through a fully serviced plant hire arrangement, with no material capital expenditure required over the term.
“As the company looks to the 2026-27 financial year (FY27), it is pleasing to see these contract awards further strengthen our order book,” he said.
