Schlam rolls out end-to-end installation kits
Market-leading load and haul attachment specialist Schlam has announced the development of a new range of in-house engineered installation kits for mining truck beds and buckets, providing customers with a complete end-to-end solution for attachment supply and installation.
The installation kits are being developed as part of a three-year product development program and will be compatible with mining equipment from all major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The first truck bed installation kits are expected to be available from the fourth quarter of this year.
The kits will be bundled with Schlam’s truck bed and mining bucket products, streamlining procurement and installation while reducing the need for mining operations to coordinate multiple suppliers.
Schlam executive general manager, product lifecycle services Amit Bareja said the initiative was a natural extension of the company’s position in the load and haul attachment market.
“As a load and haul attachment specialist, it makes sense for Schlam to produce and sell these products, as they are required every time one of our truck beds or buckets is installed on a machine,” Bareja said.
“From a customer perspective, they’ll no longer need to deal with multiple suppliers, as kits will be bundled with our products, saving them both time and money.”
“In addition, these product bundles will mean extended warranty options are available.”
The installation kits will be supported by Schlam’s global service and support network, with local stockholding aimed at minimising lead times and maximising equipment availability.
“Unlike many parts suppliers, our customers know we have a comprehensive service and support network to back them up,” Bareja said.
Schlam said the initiative reinforces its strategy of providing a one-stop shop for load and haul attachment solutions, spanning design and manufacture through to installation and aftermarket support.
The initial rollout will focus on truck bed installation kits, with additional products to be introduced as the development program progresses.
