According To Mining News Pro -The Steel Association of Iran produced 8 million and 279 thousand tons of crude steel from the beginning of April to the end of March. This figure was more than 7 million and 62 thousand tons in the same period of 2017.
In addition, during the first four months of this year, 6 million and 983 thousand tons of steel products were manufactured in the country (cord, beam, widescreen, rebar, hot plate, cold sheet, coated sheet, etc.). Also, during the four months, 8 million and 602 thousand tons of sponge iron were produced, which is 19 percent higher than the same period last year (7,245 thousand tons).

In addition, 285,000 tons of sponge iron were exported during the same period, up from a year earlier (304,000 tons), suggesting a 6 percent drop in exports of this product.
Also, during the first four months of this year, 16 thousand tons of crude steel and 370 thousand tons of all steel products entered the country, which is 167 percent and 51 percent, respectively, as compared to the same period last year (6 thousand tons of crude steel and 761 thousand tons of steel products) Percent decrease.
