Mining News Pro - Last year, meanwhile there were lack of steel scrap and DRI in the market, Saba Steel Company succeeded to supply a part of Mobarakeh Steel Company’s raw material.
According to Mining News Pro - Morteza Yazdkhasti, CEO of Saba Steel told Mining News Agency in an interview that the current product of our company, iron briquette, is a good replacement for steel scrap, considering that MSC is suffering from lack of market supply chain. Therefore, a good relationship has been created between the two company.
“According to a contract between Saba Steel and MSC, the first shipment of HBI was delivered to MSC in March, 2020 this year. In the middle of raw material shortage, specially pellet and DRI, we delivered our second and third shipments in April and May,” he explained.
“This collaboration has several positive points. First is the iron is turned into steel and roll inside the country which creates added value And on the other hand, this self-sufficiency is a benefit for us because we didn’t have any trouble supplying the material considering the sanctions and coronavirus pandemic,” Yazdkhasti added.
He said that HBI is a strategic and export product and there has always been a demand to buy it for export to different countries.
He believes that Saba Steel HBI does have domestic demands and this helps companies like MSC to complete their supply chain and creates more added value for them.
