Mining News Pro - In order to supply the domestic demands, Mobarakeh Steel Group (Including Mobarakeh Steel, Hormozgan Steel, and Saba Steel) plans to produce more than 8.5 million tons of crude steel.
According to Mining News Pro - In this regard, Mobarakeh Steel plans to produce 5.6 million tons, Hormozgan Steel to produce 1.5 million tons and Saba Steel to produce 1420000 tons.
Hamidreza Azimian, CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) said: “Mobarakeh and Saba Steel will produce 5.1 and 1.4 million tons of hot steel crank. Meanwhile, production of one million and 586 thousand tons of raw crank is on the agenda.”
“Existing reports on the production of steel in the country and its prediction by the year 1401 show that crude steel production was around 700 thousand tons per year in 1977. After the establishment of our company in 1993, the steel production started to increase and reached 6.8 million tons in 2001. Last year, this number reached 25 million. Iran is among the ten major steelmakers of the world now”, he said.
“The increase in the capacities of Hormozgan and Sefid-Dasht Steel is scheduled to increase the capacity of the Mobarakeh Steel Group by 2020 to 12.8 million tons, and the company will continue to maintain its major role in the country`s steel production. Considering that our company is in the list of US sanctions, we are using knowledge enterprises and domestic producers to produce demanded parts.”, Azimian mentioned.
CEO of MSC talked about the employment and believes that with no doubt, considering the presence of rich mines in the country and the increasing role of the steel industry in creating job opportunities, the company will increase the capacities of this field for creating jobs without any dependence on the oil industry.
